About Josh Dippold

Josh Dippold brings valuable insights to the HAL Academy through his expertise in meditation and loving-kindness practices. His practices help students cultivate mindfulness, compassion, and emotional resilience, guiding them toward inner peace. With Josh’s guidance, students learn to integrate these practices into daily life, fostering a deeper sense of connection and growth.

His primary qualification comes from an open standing invitation of feedback, (constructive) criticism and questions of all sorts for accountability and quality without gaining an allowance to do this to others, or asking anyone to do likewise. Since 2012 he has continued to sit a daily formal practice; pursuing self-study; and regularly attending retreats and trainings while currently facilitating — in real life and online — mostly meditations such as:


  • Mindfulness of breathing
  • Qigong breathing exercises
  • Four foundations of mindfulness: body; hedonic tone; mind; mind-objects/phenomena
  • Awareness practices like Open monitoring/Open awareness
  • Heart practices like the 4 Brahma Viharas/Divine abodes: Loving-kindness; compassion; vicarious/sympathetic joy; and equanimity
  • Samatha/single – pointedness/concentration
